Terry Lee Marzell appears at Corona Book-a-Paloosa event

DSC00045I was so excited to be invited to participate in this year’s annual Book-a-Paloosa event at the Corona Public Library in Corona, California, last Tuesday, June 9. Here I am at my local author booth with copies of my books, Chalkboard Champions and Chalkboard Heroes.

The event was jam-packed with lively music, good food, exciting dances, home-made crafts, and, of course, other local authors. The public library staff was promoting their summer reading program, Read to the Rhythm. What a wonderful way to start a summer vacation!

Chalkboard Heroes: The Launching Party!

DSCN3385Family and friends of author Terry Lee Marzell gathered on Sunday, March 8, at the launching party of her new book, Chalkboard Heroes. The event served as another opportunity to celebrate the significant achievements of America’s teachers, not only the twelve remarkable educators described in the book, but all the talented, dedicated, and hardworking teachers that can be found in all corners of our country.

The festive occasion featured this delicious designer cake accented with a reproduction of the book cover in fondant-covered Rice-Krispies treats perched atop a chalkboard-themed cake. This divine confection was created by Darla’s Cake Designs in Chino Hills.

The author’s next event is a book signing at Barnes and Noble in Chino Hills scheduled for Sunday, April 19, at 1:00 p.m. The address is 3625 Grand Avenue. The event is timed to coincide with Teacher Appreciation Week. So come on over, meet the author, and show your support for your favorite teacher. See you there!

Chalkboard Champions Mentioned in University of Arizona Web Site

chalkboard2[1]Here is some exciting news! Stuart Glogoff of the University of Arizona has mentioned Chalkboard Champions in his blog on the web site Through Our Parents’ Eyes. The reference is related to educator Eulalia Bourne, a remarkable teacher who worked with Native American and Mexican American youngsters in mining camps and cattle ranches in various Arizona schools. Her fascinating life story is described at length in Chalkboard Champions in Chapter 7. You can read Stuart Glogoff’s post by simply clicking on the following link:
